David Frankel

David Frankel is the founder and CEO of ZipDX and a technology partner with Blueprint Ventures.

Frankel has more than 20 years of entrepreneurial, technology, investment, and executive experience. He is recognized as a technology executive able to bridge technical, managerial, regulatory, and financing issues. Frankel’s technology interests include wireline and mobile communications, high-performance computing, and IT infrastructure.

Frankel was the founder and CTO of Jetstream Communications, and a pioneering developer of voice-over-packet systems backed by Canaan, Crosspoint, Mayfield, Mohr Davidow, MCI/Worldcom, Nortel, and others. Prior to its acquisition by Paradyne, Jetstream successfully shipped more than $50 million of products to carriers in North America, Asia, and Europe.

Frankel also served as Vice President of Engineering at Tricord Systems, a leading developer of Intel-based server computers. Earlier employed at ETA Systems, he was Director of Systems Engineering for the company’s line of supercomputers.

Frankel started his career at the Control Data Corporation, working with semiconductor CAD tools and chip design automation. A member of the IEEE, Frankel also holds three US patents, with several US and international applications pending.
